Understanding the 4 key learning behaviours

How do we phase in the introduction of learning behaviours to our students ?

This online resource seeks to support senior leaders and teachers to explore and reflect on 4 key learning behaviours that will form the bedrock onto which further behaviours can be grafted as and when necessary.

There are 4 sections, each exploring one of these key learning behaviours:

1. Understanding perseverance;
2. Understanding collaboration;
3. Understanding questioning / curiosity;
4. Understanding reflecting.

These are considered the 4 key learning behaviours because . . .

• Without perseverance, learners are unlikely to apply meaningful effort;
• Without collaboration, learners are denied access to dialogue and the thoughts of others;
• Without curiosity, learners lack motivation and engagement;
• Without reflection, learners fail to develop meta-cognition.
