Building Better Learners: Training day start
Who for? Schools new to Learning Power.
When? In-service training day required.
What for? Introduce staff to the basic principles of building powerful learners and how to translate these in to classroom practice. Explore with senior leaders how to make best to use the subsequent online learning programme to ensure changes in classroom practice.
One Face-to-face training day:Half day training for all staff (9.00 – 1.00), half day with senior leaders and learning champions who will lead the Professional Learning Teams as part of the blended learning programme.
AND … Online programme: Stepping Stones Phase 1 for all staff, containing a good year’s worth of content.
Stepping Stones Phase 2: Increasing the variety of learning behaviours
Who for: schools that have completed Stepping Stones Phase 1 online programme
Timescale: Approximately one year
What for: To extend the range of learning behaviours being used in classrooms. To quicken the pace of change, building on the solid start accomplished in phase 1.
This modular on-line programme enables the school to adopt a consistent and coherent approach to developing pupils’ learning behaviours.
Building Better Learners: On-line start
Who for? Schools new to Learning Power where face to face start-ups are not possible, e.g. schools overseas, or tiny schools.
When? Any day of the year! (no In-service day required)
What for? Introduce senior leaders and staff to the principles, frameworks and first step classroom practices of building powerful learners. An essential introduction to the big picture of the approach enabling staff and leaders alike to hit the ground running when they begin the subsequent online Stepping Stones programme.
